AMC Commercial Cleaning exceed $1 Million Turnover

Pam, Dilan and Daryl Andrews with AMC Victoria’s GM Pasquale Di Virgilio

Pam started with AMC on the 18th of April 1994 as a cleaner at Maryborough Regional

College and was joined by Darryl 2 years later. They officially became AMC business owners on the 1st of April 2004 and since then have grown their client list to 57 sites, servicing the Hume Highway including the East to the South Australian border in the West and from the Murray River to the North to the Victorian coast line. Their son Dilan has recently joined them and will assist in their continued growth.

We asked the Andrew’s family about their achievements and challenges along the way, as well as any advice they can offer…

What challenges have you faced along the way? – “The biggest challenges we have faced was forming a team of staff to clean our first site at the Maryborough Education College back in 2004. The other challenge has been the distance between sites in relation to staffing and managing them.”

What do you enjoy most about working with AMC – “You can’t beat being your own boss when your future is in your own hands” Darry says. “If you do the right thing and work hard you will succeed! Being an AMC business owner has given us opportunities to expand and grow our business and the AMC management team have been a great support along the way – always available for advice and assistance.”

What advice can you offer others based on your experience? – Daryl & Pam’s advice to other AMC cleaners is to always accept jobs that AMC offer you – big or small they all add up. AMC will know if you are capable of doing a job and will help support and train you. Listen to the advice given from AMC as they know what they are doing. Also it is important to work closely with your clients and get to know them.

How do you manage a successful team? – Daryl says “if you employ cleaners/staff you should treat them as you would like to be treated. The better that person is treated, we have found, the better that they will work for you. A bit of praise goes a long way.”

Once again a huge congratulations from the AMC team and what an inspiring story! We are proud to have you on board and look forward to seeing your growth throughout 2016.
