GROWING WITH WASTE
AMC Commercial Cleaning is proud to introduce GROWING WITH WASTE — an initiative designed to teach young people the positive potential of food waste and other organic waste.
Launched in January 2025, this initiative is being rolled out to childcare centres that we service across Australia and Aotearoa. This initiative will help the kids to learn how to use worm farms to compost food waste and understand how the waste facilitates high nutrients for vegetable patches. By which they learn how food waste provides food security and helps the environment.
AMC provides the childcare centres with worm farm kits (worm farming is a natural process where worms break down organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. This compost improves soil health, reduces waste going to landfills, and creates a sustainable cycle for growing plants). Each kit includes a hungry bin worm farm, gardening tools, a food scrap bin with easy-to-understand information about the worms and how to use food scraps in a positive way.
